MAKING YOUR WEBSITE SOCIAL

MAKING YOUR WEBSITE SOCIAL

By creating a website that is full of quality content you will attract visitors. You will want to give these visitors a chance to share your quality content and by making your website social you are giving them this opportunity.
Traffic is key to any successful website so we should use all techniques available to attract this traffic. There are several different ways you can scale traffic on your website, and leveraging not just social networks, but being more social within your content is going to help you accomplish this.

So Let’s Get Social!

So you have a banging website up and running and now you need to concentrate on making your website social. Before you do anything you should seriously consider signing up with the four social sites I have listed below:
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Pinterest
  • Google Plus
If you are already a member of these sites then all the better. You can set up new accounts geared towards the niche you are in but remember that without friends in those accounts they are worthless marketing tools.
Social media is a space where people hang out, where they cover topics with friends and acquaintances, where they discuss news, where they get suggestions and advice, and share photos and video.
Basically people are SOCIALIZING on these sites and that is what makes them such an attractive proposition to marketers. To start out these social networks were very basic and have developed rapidly over the years. These days a lot of these sites include advert services within their site to gain monetary value – again, an attractive proposition for marketers.

Making Your Website Social

By making your website social you are not just relying on SEO to get traffic to your site. This is a mistake I made when first starting out in online marketing – I concentrated to much on SEO and when my ranking dipped my traffic dipped drastically.
By making your website social you are engaging and communicating with people in a different manner to organic traffic. It is a much more personal way of doing things and it also makes you seem more approachable.

You Can Be Social Within Your Site With Comments

As I stated above you can be social within your website by simply making use of the comment section. Getting back to people within your comments is quintessential for branding and future engagement on your site.
It is also a good idea to reply to comment you receive as fast as possible. The quicker you are with your reply the more professional you look and the more people will want to engage with your site.

Engagement Through Comments Leads to Better Rankings

I have been reliably informed that engagement through comments leads to better rankings. Basically if a website or the posts within a website are shared a lot through Facebook or Twitter etc then Google takes a lot of notice of this.
As well as this the amount of comments on each website page contributes to it’s final rankings within Google’s results. A word of warning though – do not try and doctor your amount of comments or result to gaming them. Google is not stupid – it can read and make sense of all text on all webpages.
