HOW TO BACKLINK YOUR WEBSITE

HOW TO BACKLINK YOUR WEBSITE

You will need to learn how to backlink your website if you are looking to rank well within search engine results. While I’m told backlinking is not as powerful as it once was it still holds a decent amount of clout with search engines. So lets look at how to backlink your website in more detail.
First of all what are backlinks? Backlinks are links pointing toward or leading to your website. They can be from any source on the internet but it is preferable to get them from sites that relate to the same subject as your site.
So where can we get these backlinks? The first port of call is a site called Squidoo. Now I used to use this site when I first started out marketing but I do not any longer. Squidoo is a site that lets you build modular lenses ( a single page article in webpage format ). You can place links to your site all over the content on a Squidoo lens ( but I do not recommend putting in more than two links per lens ). As I mentioned I am not really a fan of Squidoo any longer – I find it a little long winded and a bit of a pain getting lenses up to publication standard. Don’t let this put you off though – many people use Squidoo and get great success through it!
So if you do not like Squidoo then what are your alternatives? Article directories are a great place to gain backlinks to your site. By writing a 400 word article you are allowed to place two links in the text body of the article. That’s two links per 400 word article – the more articles you have the more backlinks you will receive.
The most popular article directory is Ezine articles but there are many other good quality article sites out there. Personally I recommend Street Articles as the moderators there are much more human and easier to work with. I find Ezine reject articles for quite childish reasons at times and I have never encountered this problem with Street Articles.
When learning how to backlink your website it makes good sense to consider forums. No matter what your niche there is probably a forum related to it online. When joining a forum you are allowed a signature box in which you can place a backlink to your website. Whenever you leave a comment you are gaining a backlink.
By knowing how to backlink your website you are increasing the chances of ending up on the first pages of search results – YouTube can also help with this. You are able to leave links in the video descriptions on YouTube videos. Not only can you publish a video promoting your site ( or niche ) but also gain a backlink from the description.
Blog comments are very important when it comes to learning how to backlink your website. This process can be a little time consuming but it is very powerful. The comment section of blogs usually allow you to leave either anchor text links within the comment or a keyword link instead of your name. It’s important to remember that going around and leaving crap on people’s blog is not looked upon kindly – it’s regarded as SPAM. Always make sure your comments are relevant to the blog post.
These techniques on how to backlink your website are just the tip of the iceberg. For more information on backlinking visit this post – Using Backlinks For SEO.
